CBI to defame Nirav Modi worldwide, asks Interpol to make Red Corner Notice public

first_imgIn a move to defame to diamond trader Nirav Modi, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has asked the Interpol to make the Red Corner Notice (RCN) against him public which is expected to be issued soon.India Today has learnt that in a recent communication with the Interpol, CBI has informed the international agency to make the RCN public, which means that any person across the globe will be able to access the alleged criminality details along with his photograph through Interpol website.A government source told India Today that, “Nirav Modi is prime accused in bank fraud case which is over Rs 13,000 crore. We had option of keeping the RCN secret and continue the operation to nab him but Interpol has been asked to make it public.”In most of the cases, the agencies prefer to keep the RCN secret issued by Interpol. The communication with Interpol took place on Monday this week.Nirav Modi, one of the top diamond trader, whose designed jewellery has been wore by top celebrities across world is on run since January, this year. Nirav Modi is also accused of travelling on a revoked passport to at least 6 countries and is believed to be in Brussels.Making RCN public may be a major setback for his brand which is still operating in few countries. Kate Winslet, Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Nimrat Kaur, Lisa Haydon, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Olivia Munn, Dakota Johnson and Amy Adams are few celebrities who have sported for Nirav Modi’s jewellery.advertisementlast_img
